About
Howdy! My name is Shannon Birkelbach. I am passionate about never ending self improvement, and I love horses. So my journey has led me to become involved in what has been labeled as equine assisted learning. It was a bumpy road that led me to this place of learning from these beautiful creatures that God has given us. You can read that part of my story on my blog, under “Shannon’s Story”. Of course my story continues on the blog in my daily journey of being with the horses. I will be sharing more of what I learn weekly with the horses and just with people that I encounter along the way. Join me there for intentional leadership.

My biography
I am a native Houstonian, who moved out to Waller when I was 10. I loved the city but there was no looking back as soon as my dad bought our first horses.
I was always an avid learner about agricultural matters through 4H and FFA. I decided to major in accounting because I always knew that I wanted to start my own business someday.
I met my husband Phil at A&M, and we married a month after graduation. I worked for a short time in accounting, but then started a few various businesses of my own. After living in Houston for the first decade of our marriage, we decided to build our dream place out in Waller.
Becoming involved with natural horsemanship, eventually led me to become involved with equine assisted learning. I learned the two fit very well together, as they are both centered around improving relationships.
I am double certified as a horse specialist through EAGALA and OK Corral. Through Parelli Natural Horsemanship, I have officially passed Level 2, self-assessed through most of Level 3.
In what free time there is, I enjoy reading, studying the Bible, photography, and scrapbooking. Phil and I are members of Terra Verde Community Church.
