Carissa has a lifelong passion for horses and as well as an insatiable desire to learn more about natural horse care and horsemanship. She is also an advocate for helping those who have mental and physical special needs. Horses have a God given ability to provide healing and grounding for people and she loves to be able to combine her love of horses with her love of helping people through riding and equine therapies. Her journey with Five Horses began with a gift certificate for riding lessons and has grown into the fruition of a childhood dream come true by working with the best creatures on the planet (in her humble opinion), and spending time with her favorite horse, Cider.
She has a degree in Human Services- Mental Health from California State University, Fullerton and is also a PATH Intl. Registered Therapeutic Riding Instructor. In addition to her work at Five Horses, she teaches therapeutic riding lessons at SIRE in Hockley.
